Candace Owens claims French government planning to assassinate her

Candace Owens has made an explosive accusation, alleging that the French government is conspiring to assassinate her, following a lawsuit filed against her by President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron.

The controversial commentator took to social media platform X on Saturday to assert, without evidence, that the French president and first lady are involved in a plot to end her life. She also claimed that French journalist Xavier Poussard was similarly threatened.

Owens, 36, alongside Poussard, has been promoting an unfounded conspiracy theory suggesting that Brigitte Macron, aged 72, was born male—a claim that has led the Macrons to initiate a defamation lawsuit against Owens in Delaware.

Brigitte Macron has firmly rejected these false allegations.

Owens further claimed that a “high-ranking employee of the French Government” informed her of the alleged assassination plot. However, she did not disclose the identity of this source or provide details on how they would be privy to such sensitive information.

“After assessing this person’s official rank and their proximity to the French couple, I consider the information credible enough to share publicly in case anything occurs,” said Owens, expressing her concerns as a mother of four.

She claimed the French official had ‘concrete proof’ of the assassination plans, though refused to let her followers in on the evidence.

Owens has been accused of sinking to new depths after the death of Charlie Kirk, which she suggested, without evidence, was the result of Israeli involvement.

Owens, 36, took to X early Saturday morning to peddle a conspiracy theory that Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte have hatched and paid for an assassination plan against her

Owens also wildly claimed that the US government is aware of Macron’s plans and are not doing anything to protect her.

‘I do not know who in the American government can be trusted, since this source claims our leaders are aware. But I have more specific information which is definitely verifiable, should they care to reach out to me,’ she wrote.

The Daily Mail has contacted the White House, the French Government, and Owens for comment.

In a further twist to the drama, Owens claimed Tyler Robinson, the man accused of assassinating Owens’s close friend Charlie Kirk, ‘trained with the French legion 13th brigade with multi-state involvement.’

American authorities have not made this connection. In charging documents, officials said Robinson allegedly killed Kirk because he ‘had enough of his hatred.’

Robinson, who is allegedly dating a transgender woman, disagreed with Kirk’s politics, which the right-wing commentator loudly displayed through his organization Turning Point USA.

It is unclear if Robinson has ever been to France or has any connection to the European country.

‘To the brave official in France who did this because they were so moved by the evil of Charlie’s public execution to risk their own life – May God bless you. Truly,’ Owens concluded.

‘Let all be revealed.’

In a follow-up comment to a fan, she claimed ‘we have lost this country’ as ‘Americans are being assassinated on American soil and agencies within our government are aware.’

‘Exactly one year before they murdered Charlie, they tried to murder me,’ she wrote.

The Macrons filed a US defamation lawsuit in July against the conservative podcaster, who produced a series titled ‘Becoming Brigitte,’ claiming she was born a man.

Poussard also published a book in collaboration with Owens under the same title. It was released in February. The journalist also appeared on her podcast to discuss their findings the same month.

The French couple are planning to offer ‘scientific’ and ‘photographic’ evidence proving that the first lady is not transgender, according to their US lawyer.

Owens has demanded Brigitte undergo a ‘third-party examination’ to prove she is a woman, she told the Daily Mail in September.

‘We’re going to demand Brigitte sit down for an exam with an independent doctor. We’re coming for her medical records,’ Owens said.

‘This isn’t France, where Brigitte and Emmanuel Macron get to do whatever they want. This is America.

‘You don’t get to skip discovery just because you’re a foreign world leader angry about a podcaster’s First Amendment rights.

‘The court-mandated discovery process does not allow Brigitte to just “submit” evidence.

‘The American court system isn’t some kangaroo court where leaders can just say whatever they want.

‘Evidence must be independently verified. During the discovery process, Brigitte will need to submit herself to a third-party medical examination.’

Tom Clare, who is representing the Macrons in the case, said Owens’s claims have been a ‘distraction’ for the French president and ‘very upsetting’ to the First Lady.
