Andrew would 'humiliate' women around him with 'ghastly' jokes and 'juvenile' pranks - from unzipping a celebrity's dress to shoving a guest's face into a plate of food

Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has long been known for his abrasive demeanor and a tendency to be inconsiderate to those around him. Recently, tales of his inappropriate party behavior, dating back to his teenage years, have surfaced.

Earlier this month, at 65, Andrew faced the loss of all his royal titles and was instructed by King Charles to leave Royal Lodge, his rent-free residence for over twenty years, due to his association with the deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Numerous sources have now shared accounts of witnessing Andrew trying to irritate, provoke, and demean women and girls at various gatherings and formal events.

His conduct, according to some observers, typically targeted female attendees, with reports of him unzipping dresses, barging into rooms where young women were resting, and pushing a woman’s face into a plate of food.

Royal biographer Andrew Lownie, in his book “Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the Yorks,” unveiled several stories from individuals who claim to have observed Andrew’s antics over the years.

Author Craig Brown recounted in the book that a 17-year-old Andrew became the butt of jokes at a house party due to his odd interactions with a group of girls.

The morning after the party, the three ‘pretty’ young girls complained over breakfast that the teenage prince had barged into their room in the wee hours of the morning.

He allegedly asked to bunk next to them as there was a ‘ghost’ in the room where he was sleeping, before they swiftly kicked him out.

Another journalist reported that Andrew had walked through the bedroom and into the en-suite of a girl where she was brushing her teeth to ‘lecture’ her on the proper technique.

One woman said she woke up one morning after a party to a ‘foolishly laughing’ Andrew pointing a fire extinguisher at her face. She later found out he had played the same prank in all the girls’ rooms.

Mr Lownie said the King’s brother has a ‘strong and juvenile characteristic’ and would use his position to ‘humiliate’ people around him who feel unable to respond.

In 1992, Andrew was said to have unzipped British broadcaster Tania Bryer OBE’s dress at a society event.

A titled lady referred to Andrew as the ‘most boorish man I have ever met’ and cited one incident where she was at a dinner at Windsor Castle.

The woman claimed the then-prince asked an 18-year-old woman what she did for a job.

When she replied that she was a secretary, the former prince apparently exclaimed to everyone at the table: ‘How terribly uninteresting. Is that the best you can find to do?’

A friend of Andrew’s claimed he was a ‘nightmare’ to sit next to at dinners due to his ‘ghastly’ and ‘lavatorially disgusting’ jokes, often about whether the females at the table were wearing underwear.

At another affair, he was said to have urged a female guest to sniff the first-course pate, claiming it smelled bad. However, when she leaned down to take a whiff, he pushed her face into the dish.

Mr Lownie claimed his pranks are due to ‘boredom or mischievousness’ but mainly to ‘provoke a reaction’, citing a time during his childhood dance lessons where he walked into a room where people were watching TV, changed the channel, hit pause, then walked out.

Andrew apparently had a string of odd party game favourites, including ‘choo choo trains’ where he encouraged people to form a conga line shouting ‘choo choo’, as well as an activity that involved guests lining up to pass fruit to each other using only their neck and chin.

Over the years, Andrew’s repertoire of party tricks only grew more outlandish.

Guests were reportedly told by the royal to close their eyes, hold out their hands and ‘make a wish’ before clapping.

What they didn’t know was that he’d slipped an open tube of mustard between their palms, leaving them with a face full of condiment the moment they brought their hands together. The spectacle was said to have given the disgraced royal ‘great joy’.

In 1981, the Queen gifted Andrew an Egyptian holiday as a reward for getting his helicopter wings.

Anwar El-Sadat, who was the president of Egypt at the time, loaned Andrew his presidential jet to fly to various locations including a short cruise along the Nile where the former Duke of York spent most of his time with his attentions towards another guest’s wife.

During the trip, British Ambassador to Egypt at the time, Sir Michael Weir, threw Andrew a party, inviting a list of local high society members.

The accounts of what happened at this party are varied and unsubstantiated, but one rumour is that the ex-prince jumped into the pool fully clothed, dragging a hostess in the water with him.

She apparently emerged in her soaked party dress looking ‘bedraggled and despondent’.

It wasn’t always women and girls who were on the receiving end of Andrew’s antics.

Journalist Peter Chapman recalled Andrew displaying some very odd behaviour at a stately event for the opening of the new Lincolnshire Regiment’s museum, which he described as ‘a grand occasion, full dress medals and so on’.

While addressing the audience, Major-General Dick Gerrard-Wright had trouble with his speech papers thanks to his white gloves so took them off ‘finger by finger laboriously’.

According to the journalist, Andrew leapt from his seat with a smile across his face, walked across the stage and took the gloves yelling, ‘You won’t want these now, Dick’ before tossing them into the crowd.

The bizarre stunt garnered some uncomfortable laughter from the attendees.

On November 6, King Charles announced Andrew would no longer hold his royal titles and have his HRH removed.

It follows years of controversy over Andrew’s friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, including allegations from Virginia Giuffre, who took her own life earlier this year, aged 44.

Ms Giuffre claimed Andrew sexually assaulted her when she was 17 – claims that he denies, though he settled a civil case in 2022.

His credibility was further damaged by a 2019 BBC Newsnight interview widely seen as disastrous, and the palace’s decision to demote the ex-Duke came days after the release of Giuffre’s tell-all autobiography.
