Thanksgiving meal donations: Fight2Feed amplifies the call to help fight hunger in Chicago area this holiday season

As Thanksgiving approaches, a Chicago-based food rescue group is intensifying its mission to combat hunger.

Fight2Feed, a nonprofit in Chicago, works tirelessly to prevent edible food from being wasted by salvaging it from restaurants, grocery stores, and large conventions throughout the city. Completely run by volunteers, the organization delivers these rescued meals to community partners across Chicago, as well as in Will, DuPage, and Lake counties. These partners consist of various nonprofits dedicated to supporting the homeless, underprivileged, and immigrant communities with food, shelter, and other essential resources.

Established on March 20, 2014, in Chicago, Fight2Feed began with a straightforward mission: to spark genuine change, one neighborhood at a time. Since its inception, the group has successfully served over two million meals and recovered more than six million pounds of food that might have ended up in landfills.

This holiday season, Fight2Feed is hoping to amplify their efforts to give back. They are calling for volunteers, specifically on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm through the holiday season. The hope is to feed thousands of people and make sure no one goes hungry.
