A tragic incident unfolded north of Brisbane, where a teenage girl tragically lost her life, and four others are in a critical condition following a devastating house fire.
Witnesses nearby reported hearing explosions and desperate cries as the flames rapidly consumed the residence in Lawnton, leaving little time for its occupants to react. In a frantic escape, two teenagers, along with a man and a woman, managed to flee from the inferno, only to find themselves in dire need of medical attention.
Neighbor John McWha recounted the harrowing event, describing how the “whole place just exploded,” capturing the sudden and violent nature of the blaze. Photographs taken from an adjacent property reveal the thick, dark smoke that billowed from the house before the roof ultimately collapsed under the intense heat.
In the aftermath, neighbors rushed to aid the survivors by dousing them with water in an effort to soothe their severe burns. This community response highlights the desperation and urgency that marked the scene, as those who escaped the flames fought for their lives.
