Sony’s DualSense Edge controller is now available at a reduced price just in time for Black Friday, thanks to Sony’s holiday promotion. Shoppers can find the pro-style controller in black or white at major retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy for approximately $169, representing a $30 discount. This deal is only $10 more than the controller’s lowest recorded price. The black variant, in particular, rarely sees such a significant markdown, making this an opportune moment for gamers who prefer a sleeker aesthetic.

For dedicated PlayStation 5 gamers, the DualSense Edge offers a superior gaming experience with its extensive customization capabilities compared to the standard DualSense controller. Its robust software integration with the PS5 allows users to configure up to four distinct profiles, with options to adjust button mapping, stick sensitivity, and rear button commands. Gamers can effortlessly switch between profiles for games like Ghost of Yōtei and Arc Raiders without interrupting play.

Beyond profile customization, the DualSense Edge provides adjustable trigger settings for the L2 and R2 buttons, enabling players to fine-tune them to suit different games and play styles. For instance, you can increase trigger sensitivity for fast-paced shooters like Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 or reduce it for racing games to ensure smoother control. Additionally, the controller allows for easy replacement of stick modules, a handy feature if they become unresponsive.

Despite its impressive customization features, the DualSense Edge does have some drawbacks. Cameron Faulkner from The Verge notes in his review that the controller’s battery life averages around eight hours per charge, which is less than the standard DualSense controller. However, it compensates with a long charging cable that locks into the controller, preventing accidental disconnections.
