Waters: The Media Don't 'Resist' Trump

During a segment on CNN’s “The Story Is” aired on Wednesday, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) claimed that President Donald Trump’s habit of insulting people goes unchecked by the media, stating, “The media does not challenge him, does not resist him.”

Host Elex Michaelson addressed Waters, saying, “Your comment about the President being a ‘low down, dirty, no good, filthy President’ stirred quite a reaction. Critics argue that such remarks worsen national tensions and deepen divides. How do you respond?”

Waters replied, “I’m not concerned with their opinions. Here’s the reality: the President routinely insults others. Recently, he called a female journalist ‘piggy’ and labeled someone else as a ‘big, fat slob.’ Despite this, he faces no repercussions. The media fails to hold him accountable. So, I speak freely and openly about my views on him without hesitation.”
