An American woman has been reported missing after she failed to return to her cruise ship on November 20th while in Marigot, Saint Martin.

The Sint Maarten Police Force is actively seeking public assistance in the search for Ann Evans, a 55-year-old passenger who vanished during her trip.

Authorities revealed that Evans did not make her way back to the Rotterdam cruise ship in Port St. Maarten after stepping off a tour bus in Marigot as part of an organized island excursion.

“Ms. Evans got off the bus in Marigot, French Saint Martin, but did not rejoin the tour or return to the cruise ship,” stated the police force.

Both French and Dutch law enforcement agencies on the island are collaborating in their investigation into Evans’ disappearance.

Law enforcement on both the French and Dutch sides of the island has been alerted to Evans’ disappearance.

KPSM believes that a female matching the description of Evans used her passport to check into a hotel on the French side of the island. She has also been seen in the area around the hotel, according to a local news outlet.

A similar case occurred in September when a 47-year-old American woman left a cruise ship while docked in Bonaire and never returned. She remains missing.

Not all missing-person cases are resolved, and some end without a definitive explanation.
