In recent years, the digital landscape has evolved dramatically, offering both challenges and opportunities for developers and content creators. Among the myriad of technologies shaping this arena, web browsers have played a pivotal role. Internet Explorer, a once-dominant player in this field, has seen its influence wane as newer, more advanced browsers have come to the fore.

Internet Explorer, often abbreviated as IE, was a cornerstone of web browsing in the early days of the internet. Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, it was the go-to choice for many users. However, as technology advanced and user expectations changed, IE struggled to keep pace with the innovations introduced by competitors such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple’s Safari.

These modern browsers have not only provided faster and more secure internet browsing but also introduced a host of new features that enhance user experience. From improved compatibility with various web technologies to more robust security measures, they have set new standards that IE has found challenging to meet.

The decline of Internet Explorer can be attributed to several factors, including its slower update cycle and lack of support for emerging web standards. This has led developers to favor other browsers that offer more flexibility and support for modern web applications. As a result, IE’s market share has dwindled, prompting Microsoft to shift focus to its new browser, Microsoft Edge, which promises improved performance and compatibility.

Despite its decline, Internet Explorer’s legacy is undeniable. It played a crucial role in shaping the internet as we know it today, and its influence can still be felt in various aspects of web design and development. While the digital world continues to evolve, the lessons learned from IE’s journey serve as a reminder of the importance of innovation and adaptability in technology.

Ace Frehley’s resting place has been revealed just over a month after the KISS musician died at age 74.

The iconic guitarist passed away on October 16 from a brain injury incurred from a fall, leaving him with blunt head trauma.

According to TMZ, Ace was laid to rest in a New York City cemetery following a private funeral.

The outlet published a photo of his tombstone, which was simply engraved with: ‘Paul “Ace” Frehley 1951-2025.’

The music artist had been on life support until his family made the difficult decision to remove him from the medical device.

Ace performed in KISS, as a founding member alongside Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and Peter Criss.

When KISS rose to prominence in the 1970s, they stood out with their theatrical stage presence.

Their over-the-top makeup and larger-than-life personas set them apart from the era’s other rock acts.

Co-founder Gene became The Demon, Stanley transformed into Starchild, Ace was Spaceman and Peter’s alter ego was Catman.

‘At the same time that we were forming in New York, there was a very big glitter scene, where boys were basically acting like girls and putting on makeup,’ Gene recalled in a 1996 interview with Porkchops & Applesauce, per Far Out.

‘Well, we were more like football players — all of us were over 6′ tall — and it just wasn’t convincing!’ he explained.

The band celebrated a milestone in 2014 when they earned a coveted spot in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Ace, born Paul Frehley, co-founded KISS in 1973 and exited the collective in 1982.

He went on to form a band called Frehley’s Comet, releasing two albums.

Ace died in Morristown, New Jersey last month.

Weeks before his death he reportedly collapsed in his home studio, hitting his head in a fall that triggered a medical crisis.

The star was hopeful about life just months before he died.

He was interviewed by The Aquarian in March 2025, and revealed that he spoke to a psychic who predicted he would live a long life.

Ironically, Ace told the publication he had ‘good genes’ and ‘longevity’ in his family.

‘Luckily, I have good genes. My dad lived to be 96 and my mom lived to be 86, but her older sister lived to be 99. I mean, we have longevity in the family on both sides,’ the musician stated.

‘I just spoke to a psychic. She goes, “Ace, you’re going to live to be a hundred.” So I said, “No problem!”‘
