Man killed, two seriously injured, in crash on major Sydney road

A tragic accident unfolded on a bustling road in northwest Sydney, resulting in the death of a man following a collision between a truck and a car.

According to police reports, the crash occurred around 1 a.m. on Lane Cove Road, North Ryde. The victim, who remains unidentified, was pronounced dead before emergency responders could reach the scene.

Authorities believe the individual was thrown from the red car during the impact. Meanwhile, firefighters faced the arduous task of extricating the car’s driver and a female passenger, both of whom were trapped inside the wreckage.

Paramedics provided immediate medical attention to the injured pair at the site before transferring them to a hospital. They are currently in a serious but stable condition.

The truck driver, a 61-year-old man, emerged from the incident unharmed. Nevertheless, he was also taken to the hospital to undergo mandatory testing as part of the investigation process.

Two northbound lanes are now open past the crash site. Diversions have been lifted, however motorists should continue to slow down and exercise caution as emergency services remain on site.
