Dad dies of heart attack after learning heartbreaking truth about what happened to his son

In a heart-wrenching series of events, a father died from a heart attack shortly after discovering that his son had been fatally stabbed on the same day. The tragedy unfolded in the early hours of Sunday when 30-year-old Claudecir da Cruz Casanova was stabbed in the neck during a confrontation between two groups outside a dance hall in the Vila Ceres area of Santa Catarina, Brazil. Claudecir succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Upon receiving the devastating news of his son’s death, 62-year-old Ademir Antônio Casanova fell ill and tragically passed away. The community mourned as both father and son were laid to rest on Monday at the Abelardo Luz municipal cemetery, as reported by the Brazilian news outlet g1.

In a swift response, military police apprehended three individuals near the site of Claudecir’s murder, with one suspect reportedly suffering a stab wound to the back. However, the other suspects were not immediately located.

Despite the initial arrests, authorities released the three individuals due to a lack of sufficient evidence. The investigation into this tragic incident remains active under the jurisdiction of the Abelardo Luz Police Station.

This tragedy follows another shocking event in Brazil, where a teenager was killed by a lioness after climbing a 20-foot fence at the Parque Arruda Câmara zoo in João Pessoa. Gerson de Melo Machado, 19, reportedly suffering from mental health challenges including schizophrenia, was attacked after gaining access to the enclosure using a tree. The incident prompted a large-scale emergency response.

The Institute of Forensic Science of Paraíba (IPC) initiated an investigation, and the zoo was closed in the wake of the attack, with the park expressing its “deep regret” over the incident.

A spokesperson stated: “This is an extremely sad episode for everyone, and we express our solidarity and condolences to the family and friends of the man, who has not yet been identified. As soon as the incident was reported, the park was immediately closed, following all safety protocols.”

The statement further noted: “Bica will remain closed to visitors until the conclusion of the investigations and official procedures, prioritising transparency and commitment to the safety of our visitors, employees and animals.”

In additional remarks, it highlighted that the park adheres to “rigorous technical standards” and “safety protocols,” adding that it was cooperating with the authorities involved to determine what transpired.

It continued to say that Arruda Câmara Park “expresses its solidarity” with the victim’s family and “wishes them strength.”
