Lisa Jackson, currently serving as Apple’s “Vice President for Environment, Policy, and Social Initiatives,” is set to retire in January 2026, according to the company. In a related move, Apple announced that Jennifer Newstead, who presently holds the position of Chief Legal Officer at Meta, will assume the role of Apple’s General Counsel on March 1, 2026. Newstead will be succeeding Katherine Adams, who has been in the position since 2017.

Jackson’s upcoming retirement and Newstead’s appointment are prompting some organizational changes within Apple. The company is reallocating certain duties to Sabih Khan, who is stepping in as the replacement for Williams’ Chief Operating Officer role.
