Vice President JD Vance is eager to clear the air regarding circulating rumors about his marriage.

In a conversation with NBC News on Thursday, Vance discussed how he and his wife, Usha, are handling the recent whispers about their relationship. He mentioned that they often manage to find humor in the situation.

“We actually find it amusing,” he shared.

He continued, “Much like anything in life, you have to embrace both the positives and the negatives. There are sacrifices, but there are also wonderful aspects that come with it. Our marriage is as solid as ever, and it’s been fascinating to watch Usha grow and adapt to her new role.”

Speculation about the stability of Vance’s marriage arose after he was seen sharing a close hug with Erika Kirk, the widow of Charlie Kirk, at a Turning Point USA event. This embrace, where Erika held Vance by the back of his head, sparked curiosity, especially considering her husband’s recent tragic death. Following this, Vance spoke about his spiritual journey, expressing his hope that his wife, a Hindu, might convert to Christianity.

Adding to the conjecture, Usha was recently spotted without her wedding ring during a holiday volunteer event with First Lady Melania Trump at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, and she was similarly ring-free during a November visit to Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.

Vance recalled for NBC how they were rushing to the White House on Monday when Usha realized she’d forgotten her rings.

“She was like, ‘if I don’t go back and get them, there’s going to be some ridiculous psycho who talks about it on social media,’” Vance said. “And I was like, ‘let them; It’s not even worth the trip to run back upstairs.’ So we actually have a little bit of fun with it. And we thought that whole viral social media cycle was kind of funny.”

Vance, a former senator from Ohio, shares three children with Usha. She has spent her tenure as Second Lady spearheading a program to promote childhood literacy and development.
