Two teenagers in Florida faced charges on Thursday in connection with the alleged murder of a 14-year-old girl, whom they are accused of setting on fire.

According to the Santa Rosa County police, 16-year-old Gabriel Williams and 14-year-old Kimahri Blevins reportedly lured Danika Troy to a secluded wooded area. There, they allegedly shot her several times before pouring gasoline on her body and igniting it. WEAR reported that Troy’s mother realized her daughter was missing when both she and her scooter were nowhere to be found.

Troy was initially reported as a runaway on December 1, but the next day, her charred remains were found in Pace.

The Pensacola Journal cited a witness who claimed that Blevins and Williams had orchestrated Troy’s murder.

The witness recounted that Blevins stated, “The original plan was to shoot Danika once. However, Gabriel continued to fire. They then set her body ablaze and fled the scene.”

Williams reportedly admitted to investigators that Troy had made “hurtful comments” about him, calling him “worthless” and a “gang-banger,” which deeply upset him. Some details about the murder, including parts of Williams’ confession, have been withheld in the court documents available to the public.

Williams and Blevins are charged with premeditated murder.
