A man from Western Australia is scheduled to appear in court today following charges of disorderly conduct and obstructing a Commonwealth official at Perth Airport.

According to reports, Australian Federal Police (AFP) officers were called to assist with a disturbance allegedly caused by the man at a domestic terminal in Perth Airport.

Upon their approach, the man reportedly became confrontational and aggressive, leading to his arrest.

AFP Superintendent Peter Hatch emphasized the agency’s dedication to ensuring the safety of the public and airline personnel.

“The AFP does not tolerate antisocial or aggressive behavior towards the public or police officers. We collaborate closely with airline industry partners to intervene and bring individuals to justice if their behavior is deemed unlawful,” Hatch stated.

The man is accused of repeatedly grabbing the wrists of AFP officers during a search and acting in a threatening manner towards them.

He was later charged with disorderly conduct in a public place and one count of obstructing a Commonwealth official.

The man is set to face the Perth Magistrates Court.
