Erika Kirk Pushes Back on Conspiracies About Husband's Death: 'Stop'

On Wednesday’s episode of “Outnumbered” on Fox News Channel, Erika Kirk, CEO of Turning Point USA and widow of the slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk, confronted the swirling online conspiracy theories surrounding her husband’s death.

Reflecting on these theories, Kirk stated, “It brings to mind Chapter Six of the book of Nehemiah. Nehemiah was focused on building a wall, while townspeople heckled him from below, urging him to come down. His response remained consistent, ‘I cannot come down. I am busy building.’ That’s exactly how I feel right now.”

She elaborated, “I don’t have the luxury to engage with the distractions. My silence shouldn’t be mistaken for complacency. It doesn’t imply that Turning Point USA or any of the dedicated staff who cared deeply for my husband are complicit. Our focus is on building. I understand people are grappling with the void left by such a senseless act, seeking answers. We are, too. Whenever we catch wind of a lead, we forward it to the authorities. I want justice for my husband, for myself, and for our family more than anyone else possibly could.”

Continuing, she asserted, “If people want to criticize me, that’s fine. Label me however you wish. But when they target my family or my extended family at Turning Point USA and the Charlie Kirk Show, accusing them of being involved while profiting from these baseless claims—it’s unacceptable.”

Host Harris Faulkner remarked, “I must say, I’ve never seen you express this kind of emotion before.”

Kirk responded, “This is genuine anger born of righteousness. This situation is unhealthy and resembles a mind virus. I have faith in our judicial system, and we have a remarkable team committed to this case. But what’s happening is simply not right.”

Faulkner said, “So you want to put these people back in the box where they’ve been creeping from?”

Kirk said, “I don’t care what box you’re in. But just know that your words are very powerful and we are human. My team are not machines and they’re not robots. They are human. We have more death threats on our team and our side than I have ever seen. I have kidnapping threats. I have-, you name it, we have it. And my poor team is exhausted. And every time they bring this back up, what are we supposed to do? Relive that trauma all over again? They watched my husband get murdered. I have no idea how I would have reacted if I was there that day. And thank the good Lord that I did not have to see that happen. But my team, they are rocked to the core. So why every single day do they have to be dragged through the mud, analyzed, hyperanalyzed?”

She added, “And if people think that I was just gonna wilt away, I’m not gonna sit in a corner, and cry, and be in fetal position. This is a duty to my husband and it’s an absolute honor, and I will never back down. And so my message to them is to stop. To stop.”
