An investigation into a shooting is under way after a man arrived at a medical clinic with a suspected gunshot wound on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula.

A 37-year-old man unexpectedly appeared at a medical office on Nelson Road in Point Lonsdale this morning, showing signs of a possible gunshot wound. The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m., drawing immediate attention from medical personnel.

Paramedics quickly arrived at the scene and provided initial treatment before the man was urgently airlifted to the Alfred Hospital. He is currently undergoing treatment for injuries to his upper body and is in critical condition.

In response to the situation, police officers proceeded to a nearby property on Gill Road. There, they detained a 55-year-old man who is now under investigation for his alleged involvement in the shooting incident.

At this point, no formal charges have been filed against the individual. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to piece together the details surrounding this alarming event.

He will be interviewed by police over the alleged shooting.

No charges have been laid.

It is understood the two men are known to each other.
