Jane Fonda recently shared her shock and sorrow after learning about the tragic deaths of renowned Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele. The couple, who appeared “healthy and happy” at a Christmas party hosted by Conan O’Brien just the night before, were discovered murdered in their Los Angeles home.

The star of “Grace and Frankie” expressed her profound sadness and paid tribute to the couple by posting a heartfelt message along with a photo of the “When Harry Met Sally” director and Michele. Their untimely demise has sent shockwaves through the Hollywood community.

“Rob and Michele Reiner were extraordinary people—kind, intelligent, hilarious, and generous,” Fonda, 87, shared in her emotional post. She highlighted their commitment to making a positive impact, mentioning their involvement in launching the Committee for the First Amendment, a significant free speech advocacy group.

“I saw them just the night before, glowing with health and happiness. I am devastated. Absolutely stunned,” she added.

The couple’s 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, has been accused of the horrific crime, allegedly stabbing his father, the acclaimed “A Few Good Men” director, aged 78, and his 70-year-old mother at their Brentwood home early Sunday morning.

Nick, who has had a strained relationship with his father for many years, reportedly had a heated argument with his parents at O’Brien’s celebrity-filled holiday gathering the previous evening, according to sources.

Sources said Nick, who has long faced troubles with drug addiction, displayed erratic behavior that caught the attention of other guests at the party, and even got into a tiff with comedian Bill Hader.

He allegedly slashed both his parents’ throats early Sunday and ran off, leaving his sister, Romy, to discover the gruesome scene when she went to go check on her mom and dad after a massage therapist received no response at their gate, according to authorities and the New York Times.

Nick was arrested for the double slaying hours later roughly 15 miles away, police said.

He was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and could face the death penalty if he’s convicted.

A dead-eyed Nick appeared in court for the first time Wednesday sporting shackles and a blue suicide smock, but his arraignment was ultimately pushed to Jan. 7.

He is currently being held without bail in a LA lockup.
