Massive bull shark caught off Queensland coast

A group of friends fishing off the coast of Queensland recently made an extraordinary catch: a massive three-meter-long bull shark. This impressive feat took place near Bribie Island, where the seasoned fishermen often cast their lines.

Despite their frequent fishing trips, the group admitted this catch was their largest yet. As they worked together to reel in the giant predator, excitement filled the air. “Wow, that’s a big one,” one of the fishermen exclaimed as they gradually hauled the shark from the ocean’s depths.

The battle to capture the formidable creature lasted a full thirty minutes after it initially took the bait. “It just took off like a runaway train,” recalled Jackson Fraser, one of the fishermen. “The whole experience was simply incredible,” he added, reflecting on their unforgettable encounter.

The beast’s capture was half an hour in the making after it was hooked on a line.

“It just took off, like a train, man,” fisher Jackson Fraser said.

“And yeah, it was just incredible.”

Fraser said it was the first shark caught by the mates that had broken the 10-foot mark.

“I knew it was big from the start,” he said.

“It just kept going and going and finally turned its head and just started pumping it in.”

Experts say it’s no surprise in bull shark season.

“Any shark over two metres is big, any shark over three metres is particularly big,” Associate Professor Daryl McPhee, of Bond University, said.

“So it’s certainly a large shark.”

The mates snagged a few photos before safely releasing the beast back into the blue.

“Ended up tagging it, it was a big pregnant bull,” Fraser said.
