Trump bemoans destroyed reputations from Epstein files
President Donald Trump bemoaned on Monday the potential reputational damage inflicted on people who appear in photos released as part of the Jeffrey Epstein files, which he insisted were only made public because of an effort to distract from his accomplishments.

For the first time, Donald Trump has commented on the recent release of documents by the Justice Department, which were made public last Friday. This release was mandated by a new law that required the disclosure of these files.

The legislation passed through both the House and Senate with overwhelming support, with only one Republican voting against it. Trump signed the bill into law, though his administration had initially indicated there would be no further release of Epstein-related materials following a comprehensive review.

Victims have criticized the release, claiming the documents are incomplete and contain improper redactions.

The Justice Department has responded by stating that legal teams will work in the coming weeks to redact information that protects victims and addresses other potential issues.

Regarding images of himself found in the Epstein files, Trump dismissed them as evidence of a past social connection.

“They even have pictures of me,” Trump remarked. “Everyone knew this guy, whether they were friendly or not. He was everywhere in Palm Beach.”
