Taylor Swift has made a significant charitable gesture in honor of her father, Scott Swift.

The 36-year-old music icon has generously donated $1 million to the American Heart Association.

Swift’s father, aged 73, underwent quintuple bypass surgery in June to address “five hard blockages.”

In a statement on Instagram, the organization shared, “Taylor’s donation will help enhance ongoing scientific research, improve prevention and treatment methods, and widen access to life-saving care for communities everywhere.”

This donation follows a previous $1 million contribution Swift made to Feeding America, a nonprofit network of 200 food banks dedicated to combating hunger across the United States.

The 14-time Grammy award winner was astonished to learn that despite her father’s consistently healthy EKGs during annual check-ups, it was a resting stress test that revealed the underlying issue.

The 36-year-old pop star used a portion of her $1.6 billion fortune to help the organization ‘advance ongoing scientific research, stronger prevention and treatment efforts, as well as expanded access to life‑saving care for every community’

‘He’s been telling all his friends [they] need to get the stress test because that’s what’s actually preventative,’ Swift recalled on her fiancé Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast August 13.

‘If you can find that earlier, you don’t have to have a bypass surgery. You can sort out those blockages with stents and things that are a lot less invasive.’

The Father Figure singer spent the entire summer in Florida helping the financial adviser — whom she calls her ‘best friend’ — recover, and she called the parent–child reversal ‘wild.’

‘This dude built playsets and swing sets and cribs for me,’ Swift recalled.

‘I’m building his shower chair and his walker and his like bed that goes like this. Like it’s just surreal, man…[My brother Austin] had a little harness for my dad, just like walking dad on his harness. And he was like the loveliest patient ever. He just kept saying thank you over and over again.’

Scott reportedly inspired the Pennsylvania-born belter’s songs The Best Day (2008), Never Grow Up (2010), Mine (2010) and But Daddy I Love Him (2024).

Swift’s latest charitable act came the same day she donated $1 million to Feeding America for families facing hunger.

Eleven days ago, she handed out $750,000 bonus checks to her backup dancers in her Disney+ docuseries The End of an Era.
