Shooting leaves 19-year-old injured on Westside, police say

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the arrest of a suspect following a shooting incident on the Westside of Jacksonville.

On Wednesday morning, law enforcement officials responded swiftly to a reported shooting in the 9500 block of 103rd Street. The call came in around 10:20 a.m., and upon their arrival, officers found a 19-year-old man who had sustained two gunshot wounds—one to the neck and another to the leg. Fortunately, his injuries were not life-threatening, and he was promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Preliminary investigations by the Sheriff’s Office indicated that the violence erupted from a dispute between the victim and the suspect. Following the incident, the suspect was quickly apprehended, ensuring there is no ongoing threat to community safety.
