In a tragic turn of events on Jacksonville’s Southside, a man was found shot to death outside a local business. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the incident, assuring the community that it appears to be isolated with no broader threat to public safety.

On the night of December 24, at approximately 9:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 3800 block of St. Augustine Road following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds beside the business.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department quickly arrived on the scene, but despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead where he lay.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reassures residents that this incident poses no ongoing threat to the community, emphasizing their belief that this was an isolated occurrence.

JSO believes this to be an isolated incident, “no danger to the public.”
