Texas Woman Fatally Shoots Boyfriend in Argument Over Car, Cell Phone

In the early hours of Wednesday, authorities apprehended a Texas woman, charging her with the murder of her boyfriend.

Courtney Renee Hooper, aged 36, became embroiled in a heated dispute with the 42-year-old victim over a cell phone and a car that morning, according to Bexar County Sheriff Julian Salazar. The disagreement tragically escalated into a deadly shooting, although specific details of the altercation were not disclosed.

Responding to a distress call at approximately 6:30 a.m., deputies arrived to discover the victim with a gunshot wound. Despite efforts to revive him, their attempts were in vain, Sheriff Salazar reported.

Hooper attempted to clear her name by showing deputies a video she believed would prove her innocence. However, Salazar noted that the footage only served to implicate her further.

Salazar also revealed that deputies had previously been summoned to the residence on several occasions for domestic disturbances, although these incidents involved different individuals and not the current victim.

Children were present in the household at the time of the incident, Salazar added.

Hooper has been charged with murder.
