NEWPORT, Tenn. (WATE) — In a tragic incident on Friday morning, a collision involving a car and a mobility scooter resulted in the death of the scooter rider, as reported by Newport Chief of Police Scott Lamb. The accident occurred around 8 a.m. on Cosby Highway. The Newport Police Department responded to the scene, although Chief Lamb was unable to provide further details at the time.
