Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson are captivating audiences with their magnetic on-screen partnership in the new film “Song Sung Blue.” Their dynamic performances have been a highlight, sparking conversations about their undeniable chemistry.

However, not everyone is charmed by this on-screen connection. Reports suggest that Sutton Foster, Jackman’s girlfriend and a celebrated Broadway star, is reportedly feeling a twinge of jealousy. Sources have indicated to Radar Online that she is ‘mad with jealousy’ over the palpable spark between Jackman and Hudson.

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Foster, Jackman, and Hudson for their comments on the matter, though responses are still pending.

Jackman and Foster publicly confirmed their relationship earlier this year in January, marking a new chapter for the actor following his split from ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness. The couple ended their 27-year marriage, which was finalized in June 2025.

Meanwhile, Kate Hudson, who has been in a committed relationship with musician Danny Fujikawa since 2016, is shining alongside Jackman in the film. “Song Sung Blue” follows their characters, both musicians, as they find love through a shared admiration for Neil Diamond’s music.

Meanwhile, Hudson, 46, who has been in a long-term relationship with musician Danny Fujikawa since 2016, dazzles alongside Jackman as two musicians who fall in love while bonding over their shared passion for Neil Diamond.

The pair reportedly grew close while filming and even joked about feeling like a married couple – much to Foster’s chagrin, Radar Online insiders say.

According to insiders, part of Foster’s jealousy may stem from her suitability for the role, which ultimately went to Hudson.

A source told Radar Online: ‘The first thing people may wonder when they see Song Sung Blue is, ‘Hey, why isn’t Sutton Foster in this movie with Hugh?’ She’s the right age, she has the right look, and, unlike Kate Hudson, she’s actually an accomplished singer.

‘But the vision for this project required that Hugh star opposite someone who is equally famous, and that disqualified Sutton.’

While Hugh and Kate are reportedly just good friends, the source warns that the press tour could put a strain on his relationship.

They added: ‘With a big promotional tour ahead for Hugh and Kate, it’s only going to get worse for Sutton, even if Hugh doesn’t see what all the fuss is about.’

However, according to an onlooker at the Song Sung Blue premiere earlier this month, Foster and Hudson appeared to squash rumors of jealousy after the actresses were seen being ‘friendly’ with each other and ‘sharing a heartwarming moment’ together.

The reports of ‘jealousy’ in Foster and Jackman’s relationship comes amid the Australian actor’s alleged drama with ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness.

Jackman and Foster made their red carpet debut during the 2025 AFI Fest in Hollywood a few months earlier in October.

Meanwhile, a new report from New Idea magazine claims that recent ‘peace talks’ between Jackman and Furness are said to have dramatically ended after she became upset over his recent public displays of affection with the Younger star.

An insider told the outlet, ‘Hugh and Sutton are everywhere right now – red carpets, concerts, even cuddling in the street.

‘It’s like he’s taken their truce as a green light to bring Sutton front and centre of his world – and it’s putting pressure on Deb that she’s not ready to deal with.’

The source added it had been particularly difficult for Furness to see her ex introduce his girlfriend to all their Aussie mates in New York last week when they went to an Australian pub with Hudson.

Both Jackman and Foster posted footage of the father-of-two singing Sweet Caroline with Hudson during a karaoke session, after attending the Gotham Awards together.

‘That’s hard for Deb to see, even two years after they split. They’re all her old friends too… to hear they were all singing Sweet Caroline together is just too much. She feels like she’s being rubbed out by people she was really close to,’ the insider revealed.

The outlet also claims that Jackman’s plans to bring Foster to Australia over the Christmas holidays was the final straw for his ex-wife.

‘He’s out of his mind. Deb agreed to a truce last October hoping for a peaceful family Christmas that the kids can enjoy. She can’t win,’ they added.

‘Hugh’s expecting way too much and Deb has made it crystal clear she doesn’t want the Hugh and Sutton snog show anywhere near her.’
