65p-a-day tablets Dr Hilary Jones recommends 'definitely help' post-Christmas bloating

As the Christmas festivities wind down, many have likely indulged in numerous celebrations over the past week. The holiday season often means dining out more, enjoying lavish meals, and partaking in more alcohol, which can leave people feeling less than their best.

Appearing on Lorraine, Dr. Hilary Jones addressed this common holiday concern, noting that many patients visit their GPs reporting changes in their bowel habits—a predictable outcome given the drastic change in eating habits during Christmas.

Dr. Hilary pointed out that the rich foods typical of the holidays can easily lead to bloating and constipation, especially as the season progresses. While he stressed that prevention is key, he recommended a supplement for those already dealing with the aftermath of festive indulgence.

He mentioned Debloat and Detox by Dr Vegan, which is available for £18.99 per pouch for a one-time purchase, breaking down to roughly 65p per day when used over a month from the Dr Vegan website.

During his December 15 appearance on Lorraine, Dr. Hilary elaborated: “Dr Vegan’s Debloat and Detox includes ingredients like artichoke leaf extract and milk thistle, traditionally known for supporting gall bladder health, along with botanicals and amino acids.” According to the Mirror, the brand claims that Debloat and Detox helps with digestion after meals, supports liver function, and assists in the body’s toxin processing.

The supplement combines botanical extracts and amino acids, featuring components like Milk Thistle (2,500mg), Silymarin, Fennel, Dandelion, Burdock, and L-Glutamine. Artichoke is highlighted for its antioxidant properties and is traditionally used to promote digestion, intestinal health, and the liver’s detoxification processes, as outlined on the website.

The capsules are straightforward to consume, with users recommended to take two capsules daily, either simultaneously or separately, alongside or following main meals, or prior to alcohol consumption. The brand suggests adhering to the recommended dosage for optimal results.

Nevertheless, Dr Vegan isn’t the sole brand providing a bloating-busting product. LookFantastic also stocks The Nue Co. Debloat and Prebiotic Bundle for £98, which provides ‘two dietary supplements’ containing digestive enzymes, prebiotics and probiotics, the website notes.

Boots similarly offers the Artah, Digest + Debloat Tincture 100ml for £32 on its platform. These are designed to supplement one’s diet, the website explains, and are described as ideal for consumption before or after meals.

Returning to Dr Vegan, hundreds of customers have documented their experiences with the Debloat and Detox supplement. One individual, Carolyn, commented: “Definitely help with digestion and lessen feelings of bloating, after my evening meal… Take them religiously!”

Another user, Nicki, shared her experience: “I have suffered with IBS symptoms for a year now and in one month my bloating and constipation has almost gone – I’ve had one or two instances this month compared to every single day. It is quite pricey but it compares well to other similar products and the ingredients are natural and high quality. I can’t imagine I’ll ever stop taking them.”

However, not all users found the product beneficial, as another customer noted: “I used this for 30 days and found no difference. On a positive, despite the capsules being large, they are easy to swallow.”

Overall, the majority of users expressed satisfaction, as Melanie stated: “Less bloating and stomach pain after eating, and no uncomfortable, hard full tummy that made it impossible to do sit ups. I will be repeating the order when it comes to renewal and have been really impressed.”
