Passenger has foul-mouthed meltdown at airport and threatens staff

An irate traveler was filmed having an outburst at Kansas City International Airport during a lockdown prompted by a bomb threat on Wednesday.

The man, whose identity remains unknown, launched into a profanity-laden rant while confronting a Southwest Airlines staff member at the gate for a Denver-bound flight around 11:30 a.m.

During the confrontation, he can be heard declaring his British origin with offensive language as he began to intimidate the female staffer.

At one point, he placed his hand on the employee’s computer screen, prompting her to firmly instruct him, “Get your hand away from me.”

When she threatened to alert law enforcement, the man escalated his aggression, yelling, “I don’t care about getting arrested, [expletive]!”

He further threatened, “I’ll still smack your [expletive] [expletive].”

As the tirade continued, a male employee could be seen trying to put some distance between his female colleague and the irate passenger.

The man just leaned over the counter and warns her: ‘This counter ain’t saving you!’

‘If I wanted to, I would have got your b**** a** already,’ he said, pointing at the female employee.

At that point, the employee could be seen apparently trying to grab her phone to call police on the man, prompting him to angrily try to get behind the counter.

Fellow passengers then decided to intervene, placing themselves between him and the woman as he continued to yell threats.

Some could even be seen trying to calm him down as he complained, ‘I’ve been here since 5.30.’

But the situation only escalated when a man in a baseball cap approached the angry passenger, who seemed to want to challenge him, calling him a ‘soft b***, like your woman.’

Meanwhile, the woman filming the entire incident told the unruly passenger to ‘shut up.’

‘Or what b***?’ he said, directing his attention to her.

He then continued to lob insults at the man in the hat as another man tried to hold him back.

‘N****, that’s why you getting cheated on,’ the furious passenger taunted as he stepped onto some chairs.

Nearby, a man could be seen waving for security to come.

It remains unclear whether the man was arrested or cited in connection with the incident.

But his tirade came amid an investigation into a bomb threat that temporarily disrupted operations at the airport on Wednesday.

It wound up reopening later in the day and was operating normally after police and FBI agents cleared the scene.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the bureau’s Kansas City office said agents and airport police ‘worked quickly to evaluate the situation and ensure the safety of everyone, including evacuating travelers from the affected area of the terminal.’

Authorities ultimately determined there was ‘no credible threat’ to the airport or those inside, the spokesperson added.

Daily Mail has reached out to airport officials for comment.
