JSO: Woman with 'life-threatening' injuries following domestic dispute turned shooting

A woman is battling for her life following a domestic conflict that escalated into a shooting in Jacksonville, as reported by law enforcement.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Authorities have reported that a woman is critically injured as a result of a domestic altercation that culminated in gunfire in Jacksonville.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. on Sunday near Kingfisher Lane. Officers discovered a woman in her 30s with several gunshot wounds, and she was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where her condition is deemed life-threatening.

Initial investigations suggest the situation began as a domestic dispute within a residence, which subsequently led to the shooting.

Authorities have confirmed that a suspect has been apprehended.

Detectives from the JSO crime scene unit are actively interviewing witnesses and searching the vicinity for any surveillance footage that might shed light on the events.
