Passengers from QF748, which touched down in Sydney at 10:30 PM, are being urged to stay vigilant for symptoms if they were present at the domestic arrivals area of Terminal 3 around 11 PM.

The individual carrying the infection was also reported to have been at the Concord Repatriation General Hospital’s Emergency Department between 1:00 PM and 4:10 PM on Saturday.

Authorities advise those who shared the flight to remain alert for symptoms until January 16, while individuals who were at the hospital during the same time should monitor their health until January 21.

Dr. Conrad Moreira highlighted key symptoms to be aware of, such as fever, sore eyes, runny nose, and cough, typically followed by a red, blotchy rash spreading from the head and face to the rest of the body after three or four days.

He noted, “Symptoms may take up to 18 days to manifest post-exposure.”

Dr. Moreira added, “Administering the measles vaccine promptly after exposure can potentially prevent the illness.”
