Since the dramatic capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, US President Donald Trump and senior members of his administration have issued warnings to several other governments, including those of Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Iran and Greenland — a self-governing territory of Denmark.
“We are in the business of having countries around us that are viable and successful and where the oil is allowed to freely come out,” Trump said.

In a bold statement underscoring America’s strategic positioning, former President Donald Trump declared, “American dominance in the Western Hemisphere will never be questioned again.” This assertion came amid escalating tensions with Iran, as Trump issued a stern warning against any advancements in Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs.

Last month, Trump cautioned Tehran following reports of renewed efforts to bolster its military capabilities. After discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump remarked, “I hear that Iran is trying to build up again, and if they are, we’re going to have to knock them down.” His comments reflected growing concerns about Iran’s intentions and the potential threat posed by its actions.

In response, Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, issued a defiant message, declaring that the Islamic Republic “will not yield to the enemy.” He also emphasized that any protesters challenging the regime should be “put in their place,” highlighting Iran’s internal strife amidst external pressures.

In June, the United States took decisive action by bombing several key Iranian nuclear facilities. This move occurred against the backdrop of a broader conflict, coinciding with Israel’s 12-day military engagement with Iran. The US attack effectively halted the already faltering bilateral talks aimed at curbing Tehran’s nuclear ambitions, further straining relations between the two nations.

The attack ended what had been a stuttering process of bilateral US-Iranian talks designed to rein in Tehran’s nuclear program.
