Prince Louis is often noted for his lively demeanor during public appearances, and it seems his cousin, Lena Tindall, shares this spirited trait.
Louis, the youngest child of the Prince and Princess of Wales, and Lena, the youngest daughter of Zara and Mike Tindall, are both seven years old and are reportedly close companions.
In addition to their shared birth year, Lena and Louis appear to possess a similar sense of humor.
Much like Louis, Lena is known for making amusing faces at both the cameras and the adults during formal events, a trait she has displayed since her debut at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
During the Christmas festivities last December, Lena seemed to be enjoying herself immensely while attending the morning church service and joining the royal family for a walkabout in Sandringham.
At one point, Lena’s playful expression during an exchange with Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, was reminiscent of Louis’s famous wide-eyed, mock-surprised look that has delighted onlookers on several occasions.
And both Lena and Louis have separately stuck their tongues out at their mothers, with the youngest Wales photographed in a moment of mischief when he attended the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022.
From looking serious during fleeting moments of focus to the unbridled look of joy on their faces when accepting sweet treats, Lena and Louis are like two peas in a pod.
Prince Louis’s (left) crown as the most mischievous royal could soon be seized by a lesser-known youngster in the Firm: Zara Tindall’s seven-year-old daughter, Lena (right)
Lena Tindall (right), seven, is certainly giving seven-year-old Prince Louis (left) a run for his money, with the second daughter of Zara and Mike Tindall often caught pulling funny faces at the camera and getting up to mischief at public engagements
Louis became an internet sensation when the then-four-year-old was spotted covering his ears during a flypast on Trooping the Colour in 2022.
When he attended the Platinum Pageant alongside the Princess of Wales, Louis was seen sticking his tongue out at Kate – but it was later Lena who put him in his place.
The pair got into a lighthearted spat during the official engagement when Lena glowered at Louis after he tried to grab her sweets.
The sassy toddler then walked up to Louis’s older brother Prince George to offer him one instead as social media users declared Lena ‘was a whole mood’.
One royal fan commented: ‘This was such a funny moment!! They must make their parents go crazy when they are playing together!’

Another described the young royal duo as big ‘characters’ while several onlookers praised the pair for being ‘so adorably normal’ despite their royal upbringing.
‘They’re only a few weeks apart in age. I think this could be a long term rivalry!’ a fan jokingly exclaimed.
Held on June 5, 2022, the Platinum Pageant was the spectacular finale of celebrations to mark the Queen’s 70-year reign.
Yet the significance of the historic event was seemingly lost on the pair as they appeared more interested in winding up their parents.
Louis’s mischievous side was on full display as he sat alongside his mother with his mouth open, perhaps concealing what appeared to be a slight yawn, while he also kept the Princess of Wales entertained with his hilariously animated expressions.
The historic event also marked Lena’s first official public appearance, as the seven-year-old royal does not have a HRH title and has mainly been kept out of the spotlight by her conscientious parents.
But the youngster, dressed in a denim jacket and adorable green headband, clearly knew how to make an impression and quickly rivalled Louis’s widened eyes and look of comic disbelief as she sat on Zara’s knee.
At another point during the Platinum Pageant, Kate appeared to make a desperate attempt to reason with her understandably restless four-year-old, but was instead met with a defiant Louis, who stuck his tongue out in response.
Lena copied her royal cousin when she attended the New Year’s Day races at Cheltenham in 2023, as she was photographed recreating the pose.
For the young royal duo, the annual Christmas Day service at Sandringham may have been rather taxing, with the pair both pictured making animated facial expressions that strongly resembled one another
The mischievous resemblances between the two royal second cousins was also on clear display last Christmas – with Louis and Lena seen making facial expressions that showed their mouths hung open in bewilderment
The now seven-year-olds were seen making a similarly adorable display of bewilderment that showed their new adult teeth
Both Lena and Louis have been able to enjoy being a member of the Royal Family without a significant amount of pressure or royal duties placed upon them. Louis is fourth in line to the throne, while Lena is 24th
Later that year, Lena joined several other members of the Firm for their annual Christmas festivities at Sandringham, Norfolk.
But it appeared that the Christmas Day service at St Mary Magdalene Church was perhaps slightly too long for then five-year-old Lena, with the animated young royal captured holding onto Zara’s arm with her mouth held open.
Lena clearly wasn’t alone in her frustrations at the lengthy Christmas service, with Louis also captured making a face of seeming dismay while staring directly at the camera as he walked alongside his mother.
Their copycat expressions were also on full display last Christmas, when Lena was seen clutching her jacket as she walked with her mouth wide open.
When Prince Louis exited the church, he was also seen making a rather animated facial expression of bewilderment towards the camera that strongly resembled his cousin’s demeanour.
And when she made a second appearance at the Cheltenham races alongside her equestrian mother in the New Year, she wore an awe-struck expression.
It strongly resembled Louis’s adorable toothless grin adored by royal fans as he stood on Buckingham Palace balcony with the Royal Family for the VE Day celebrations in March last year.
