In a recent town hall meeting, Krafton, the developer behind the widely popular PUBG, unveiled an ambitious strategy that includes the development of 26 new games. The company emphasized its dedication to strengthening its core gaming business while strategically pursuing the creation of long-lasting Franchise IPs. This plan reflects a disciplined approach that aims to shape the future of Krafton’s gaming ventures.

Krafton has spent the past year preparing for this path by bolstering its creative leadership and enhancing its game development and publishing frameworks. The company projects that by 2026, it will intensify its efforts to develop new titles with the potential to evolve into Franchise IPs. Concurrently, Krafton is committed to accelerating the growth of the PUBG IP Franchise.

The developer’s “26-project development pipeline” is meticulously structured around early validation and decisive checkpoints. Among these projects, a dozen games, such as Subnautica 2, Palworld Mobile, and No Law, are slated for release within the next two years.

In addition to these new ventures, Krafton continues to expand the PUBG franchise. The company is keen on enhancing user-generated content that capitalizes on PUBG’s core gunplay, mechanics, and physics engine. This initiative aims to foster an ecosystem where players have the freedom to create and share their own content. It’s worth noting that PUBG: Battlegrounds remains a significant presence in the gaming world, boasting nearly 200,000 concurrent players and ranking as the fourth most-played game on Steam, according to the platform’s charts.

Furthering its commitment to innovation, Krafton reiterated its “AI First” strategy, initially announced last year. The company is exploring how its gaming technology might be applied to fields such as physical AI and robotics, viewing these as long-term exploratory opportunities. This forward-thinking approach underscores Krafton’s vision to lead in both gaming and technological advancement.
