Sara Foster, the offspring of renowned composer and music industry titan David Foster, recently revealed a less-than-stellar date with Hollywood’s own George Clooney. This anecdote surfaced during her conversation with sister Erin on an episode of “The World’s First Podcast.”

Foster recounted how supermodel Cindy Crawford and her husband, Rande Gerber, apparently took it upon themselves to set her up with the Oscar-winning actor. “I got set up with George Clooney, like, 30 years ago. It was such a blah. Sorry, had to say it,” Foster confessed.

The ill-fated rendezvous took place when she was around 24 years old, and the foursome actually met face-to-face. However, the chemistry was nonexistent from the start. “It was just such a hard no,” she reflected, sharing her initial thoughts. “I remember thinking, ‘Oh, he is so old.'”

Efforts to reach out for comments from representatives of Clooney and Crawford by the Daily Mail have yet to yield any responses. This tale of Hollywood matchmaking gone awry remains a humorous footnote in the annals of celebrity dating history.

‘It was just such a hard no,’ she said, recalling her first impression. ‘I remember thinking, “Oh, he is so old.”’ 

Daily Mail has reached out to reps for both Clooney and Crawford but has not received a response.

Foster continued by reflecting on age-gap relationships more broadly, explaining that she has never fully understood the appeal. 

‘I always say that when I see these young girls dating older guys. Like, yes, of course, sometimes it makes sense, and it’s all the things,’ she said. 

However, she admitted the dynamic never resonated with her personally. 

‘I’ve never understood a 19-year-old that’s into a 40-year-old. I just always thought that was so weird.’

She went on to say she was ‘offended’ that Crawford and Gerber tried to set her up with Clooney ‘because he felt so old’ to her. 

‘I’m sure George Clooney is a nice guy, but I just remember it being the four of us sitting there and thinking like, “I’m gonna die, like I’m gonna die,”’ Foster said, adding that she was already ‘so sad’ over an ex-boyfriend at the time. 

‘Then, here’s this one who just feels like a grandpa. It was depressing. I was so depressed,’ she continued.

Foster felt there was one more detail worth setting straight about how the date actually went.

Foster eventually moved on from both her ex and the brief Clooney encounter, finding a long-term relationship with tennis player Tommy Haas.
