‘FRIENDS’ STAR MATTHEW PERRY SUSPECT KILLER DOCTOR ESCAPES JAIL TIME IN HOLLYWOOD FIASCO

Dr. Mark Chavez, one of the physicians who admitted to providing ketamine to the late actor Matthew Perry, has been sentenced to eight months of home confinement. This follows the drug’s role in Perry’s tragic overdose. Despite the seriousness of the case, Chavez will not serve jail time.

U.S. District Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett also imposed three years of supervised release on Chavez, marking him as the second individual among five defendants to face sentencing linked to Perry’s death.

Matthew Perry candidly shared his struggles with addiction in his 2022 memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big, Terrible Thing.” He revealed that he had been to rehab 15 times, detoxed 65 times, and spent between $7 to $9 million in his efforts to achieve sobriety.

Two years following a life-threatening incident, Perry sought treatment at a rehabilitation facility in Switzerland. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he confessed to feigning pain symptoms to obtain OxyContin.

At the same time, he was undergoing daily ketamine infusions, with ketamine ultimately contributing to his untimely death.

On October 28, the day of his passing, Perry played pickleball with friends at his country club. Afterward, he returned home, where his assistant saw him before leaving for errands, unaware it would be their final encounter.

At 4 p.m., the assistant returned home and found Perry floating face down in the heated end of the pool.

Paramedics pulled Perry out of the pool and pronounced him dead at the scene.
