In Baker County, Florida, a sheriff’s deputy sustained injuries from a gunshot wound while attending to a domestic disturbance, as per official statements.

Authorities from the Baker County Sheriff’s Office arrived at a residence on Harry Rewis Road Saturday evening following reports of a man being shot by a family member. Upon arrival, deputies encountered gunfire directed at them.

The sheriff’s office stated that deputies returned fire, which resulted in the suspect being critically injured.

One of the deputies suffered a gunshot wound to the arm and was subsequently transported to the hospital, where he is being treated for injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
