Suzanna's Kitchen recalls 13,000 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken in 7 states over Listeria concerns

Urgent Recall: Suzanna's Kitchen Pulls 13,000 Pounds of Chicken in 7 States Due to Listeria Alert

Listeria is ranked as the third most deadly foodborne illness in the U.S., as reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

WASHINGTON — Suzanna’s Kitchen has announced a voluntary recall of over 13,000 pounds of their ready-to-eat grilled chicken breast fillets amid concerns over Listeria contamination.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service stated that these products were distributed to foodservice centers in several states, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Ohio.

The affected chicken breast fillets were produced on October 14, 2025, and packaged in 10-pound cases containing two 5-pound bags each. The recalled items can be identified by the lot code “60104 P1382 287 5 J14” on both the case and the packaging, along with the establishment number “P-1382.”

No illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall so far.

The issue was identified after a third-party laboratory test returned a positive result for Listeria monocytogenes in the product.

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, elderly people, pregnant women and those with weakened immune systems, according to the FDA.

Healthy individuals may experience short-term symptoms including high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Pregnant women face additional risks: listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths.

Listeria infection is the third leading cause of death from foodborne illness in the United States, according to the CDC.
