In a deeply unsettling video, former Duke basketball standout and NBA player Kyle Singler has raised grave concerns about the safety of his child, while also revealing his own struggles with homelessness. The 37-year-old shared these alarming revelations on social media.

“I don’t feel safe,” Singler expressed in the video he filmed himself, originating from his hometown of Medford, Oregon. “People in my life are taking my money. This is a message to everyone who’s been causing me trouble. My child is being subjected to sexual, physical, emotional, and spiritual abuse. Shame on everyone who knows me and isn’t stepping in to help. F*** all of you. Duke, Medford, everyone.”

Singler elaborated on his distress, saying, “I have people manipulating me, and I am left alone, homeless, while others just exploit me.”

He further vented his frustration: “You all have shaped me through your treatment, and I am fed up. I’m standing tall now. If you don’t like it, then be supportive. My child has been used as a weapon against me.”

“I am not sorry for living a life filled with love and surrounding myself with people I enjoy being around. But it’s not mutual. I have been exploited at every step. Now, I’m speaking out. You’ve talked your s***, and now it’s my turn. I hope you hear it,” Singler declared.

This video is currently the sole post on Singler’s Instagram account, though he has shared similarly troubling content across various social media platforms.

The video comes months after Singler was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend in Whitehead, Oklahoma. The woman told officers at the time the former Oklahoma City Thunder player was her live-in boyfriend and was trying to ‘get’ their child, local station Newson 6 reported at the time.

Officers said Singler appeared to be under the influence of drugs. The woman told police he wanted to have sex with her. When she refused, he allegedly threatened to rape her before pushing her to the ground and assaulting her.

KFOR reported the woman had bruising on her arms and ‘finger outlines’ on her face. Singler was later taken to Haskell County Jail.

His latest video has naturally caused widespread concern within the basketball world. Legendary announcer Dick Vitale, for one, is speaking out on social media.

‘Covered Kyle Singler for @espnwhen he starred @DukeMBB in 2010 when he was a key player on their national championship team,’ Vitale wrote on X. ‘Reading this story breaks my heart. Please get Kyle HELP! So so SAD!’

Former NBA player and Ohio State star Evan Turner encouraged Singler to reach out to the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA): ‘Call the union, big dog. They will help.’

The union has been in touch with Singler over his personal issues in the past, as previously revealed by the Daily Mail after he made another disturbing social media video in November of 2024.

‘We’re doing the turn the page… sending prayer and gratitude to everyone tonight,’ a gaunt, shirtless Singler said while walking around shirtless in an empty room. ‘Acknowledgement to the ones… to the real ones. Never sacrifice who you are. Be who you are. Follow your gut. Trust your intuition… Sometimes easy isn’t so easy.’

As was the case this week, Singler’s appearance and ramblings prompted widespread concern in the basketball world.

‘To everyone who has spent time with Kyle Singler and whose lives he has touched – please shower him with the love and support he needs + deserves,’ Love wrote online.

‘I would not be who I am today without him. I am forever indebted and love him. To the NBA family, Duke BB family, & South Medford community – let’s show up for one of our own.’

Philadelphia 76ers center Andre Drummond – who played with Singler on the Detroit Pistons – wrote, ‘You aren’t alone brother! I’m here for you.’

In his high school days, Singler was a widely heralded recruit out of Oregon when he signed a national letter of intent in 2006 to play basketball at Duke University.

He was a member of the Blue Devils’ 2010 National Championship winning team that beat Butler University, 61-59, in the final. For his efforts, Singler was named Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four.

After one final year in college in 2011, Singler was selected 33rd overall in the second round of the 2011 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons.

He initially played in Spain with Lucentum Alicante and Real Madrid before joining Detroit in 2012.

Singler played with the Pistons for three seasons before being packaged to the Oklahoma City Thunder as part of a three-team deal involving eight players and three draft picks.

He remained in Oklahoma City after 2015, re-signing with the team. He was waived in 2018 and continued his playing career in Spain again before retiring due to ‘personal reasons’ in 2019.

Across his NBA career, Singler averaged 6.5 points and 2.9 rebounds per game across 356 career games.
