In a distressing turn of events on Monday afternoon, four individuals were hospitalized following a shooting incident in Fort Pierce, which authorities believe originated from an attempted online marketplace deal. This was disclosed by the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office.

Responding swiftly around 1:15 p.m., deputies arrived at the 3600 block of Avenue R, where they encountered multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The law enforcement officers took immediate action, securing the scene, administering first aid, and coordinating with St. Lucie County Fire Rescue to ensure the victims were transported to a nearby hospital for further medical attention.

Initial investigations, supported by witness statements, suggest that the confrontation began when a person arrived at the location to finalize an online marketplace transaction. As the prospective buyer exited their vehicle, they were allegedly ambushed by three suspects who then opened fire, according to investigators.

Authorities have confirmed that four individuals sustained gunshot injuries. There is a possibility of a fifth person’s involvement, and detectives are diligently working to identify and locate this individual.

The sheriff’s office emphasized that the details available at this stage are preliminary and could evolve as investigations progress and new information emerges.

Residents with any information related to this incident are urged to reach out to the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office by calling 772‑462‑7300 or sending an email to CrimeTips@stluciesheriff.gov.
