A 52-year-old woman from the Australian Capital Territory reportedly exhibited erratic behavior towards another passenger as the aircraft was preparing to take off on December 13.
When a crew member approached her to assess the situation, the woman allegedly forcefully grabbed the crew member’s arm and head, resulting in minor injuries.
Upon the plane’s arrival in Perth, officers from the Australian Federal Police boarded the aircraft. The woman, described as argumentative and aggressive, was escorted off the flight by the officers.
She now faces charges for assaulting an aircraft crew member and for offensive and disorderly conduct while on board.
Each of these charges carries a potential fine of $16,500.
The woman is scheduled to appear in Perth Magistrates Court today.
