TAIPEI – An electrifying moment unfolded in Taipei as renowned American rock climber Alex Honnold embarked on a daring ascent of the iconic Taipei 101 skyscraper. Defying gravity without the aid of ropes, Honnold’s climb drew the attention of an eager crowd who gathered to witness this extraordinary feat.

The atmosphere was charged with excitement as Honnold, dressed in a striking red short-sleeve shirt, began his vertical journey. He skillfully utilized the building’s horizontal metal beams, using only his bare hands to pull himself up, capturing the awe of onlookers below.

The crowd erupted into cheers, particularly when Honnold paused mid-climb to face them, a gesture that only heightened the drama of the moment. This breathtaking free solo climb was captured live, streaming on Netflix, allowing viewers worldwide to join in the exhilarating experience.

Originally, Honnold’s ascent was slated for the previous day, but unpredictable weather conditions, namely rain, forced a 24-hour delay. Nevertheless, the wait proved worthwhile, as the climber showcased his unparalleled skills and fearless determination on one of Taiwan’s most famous landmarks.
