Billie Eilish calls out celebrities for staying silent on ICE

Billie Eilish is criticizing fellow celebrities for remaining quiet in the wake of ICE officers killing ICU nurse Alex Pretti over the weekend.

On Sunday, the artist known for “Birds of a Feather” posted a selfie with a puzzled look, questioning, “Hey my fellow celebrities, you gonna speak up? Or…”

Alex Pretti was tragically shot and killed by federal immigration officers during an operation in Minneapolis on Saturday. Several videos captured by witnesses suggest that although Pretti had a holstered and legally registered firearm, he did not appear to threaten the officers with it.

Officials from Minneapolis, along with Pretti’s family, confirm that he possessed a permit for a concealed weapon.

This incident occurred just weeks after Renee Good was shot by an ICE agent in the same city.

The Grammy winner later followed up her post resharing a video where her brother and longtime collaborator, Finneas, also addressed Pretti’s death.

The visibly emotional producer expressed frustration in a video, stating, “The conservative stance that allows school shootings to persist has often boiled down to, ‘We have to protect the Second Amendment.’ Every justification I’ve heard for Alex Pretti’s death hinges on, ‘Well, he had a gun.’”

He continued emphatically, “Shut the f–k up! This guy was being severely beaten while on the ground. He didn’t draw his weapon. He was carrying legally. And yet, they shot him to death!”

Both siblings have publicly criticized ICE’s continued enforcement presence in Minneapolis and are urging other celebrities to speak out as well.

Here’s a look at some celebrities who have been outspoken about ICE in the wake of recent events.

Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston posted a video on her Instagram stories honoring the late ICU nurse and shared several slides encouraging her followers to contact their senators.

The “Friends” alum also included a statement from Pretti’s parents that had originally been posted by Senator Bernie Sanders.

Mark Ruffalo

Mark Ruffalo, who frequently shares his views publicly, most recently responded to an NPR post about Alex Pretti.

“Cold blooded murder on an American street of a man protecting someone he loves,” Ruffalo wrote. “Don’t pretend this is okay. We have been invaded by a criminal army from within. Do not pretend this isn’t dangerous or wrong.”

Ariana Grande

On her Instagram stories, multi-hyphenate Ariana Grande shared a link on her Instagram Stories to a directory of resources, writing, “Minnesota is under occupation by federal agents from ICE and CBP, and we need your support.”

Becky G

During an interview on “Big Boy’s Neighborhood,” Becky G opened up about her views on ICE, “Deadass, the only ice I want is in my tequila.”

She added, “Everything that we’ve been through, not just with this administration, but in general, with the past few years has been crazy. I just hope that my community remembers what we’re made of.”

Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia Rodrigo took to her Instagram stories to write that ICE’s actions were “unconscionable,” adding that “we are not powerless, our actions matter,” and expressing her support for Minnesota.

In November of 2025, the singer also took aim at the White House for using her music in social media posts that promoted ICE, writing, “Don’t ever use my songs to promote your racist, hateful propaganda.”

SZA

SZA also called out the White House for “rage baiting” artists through the use of their songs in ICE-related posts.

“White House rage baiting artists for free promo is PEAK DARK ..inhumanity +shock and aw tactics ..Evil n Boring,” the “Snooze” artist wrote on X at the time.
