NEW YORK — Green Bay Packers offensive tackle Rasheed Walker found himself in legal trouble after authorities at LaGuardia Airport reported he attempted to check in a firearm without the necessary credentials.

On Friday morning, Port Authority police responded to a request at LaGuardia’s Terminal C concerning a firearm inspection. According to the police, the 25-year-old had approached Delta Airlines to present a firearm for inspection, lacking the appropriate documentation.

Rasheed Walker’s attorney, Arthur Aidala, explained that his client had voluntarily disclosed an unloaded and secured firearm upon his arrival. However, Walker was detained because his firearm license was not recognized in New York.

“We are confident the matter will eventually be dismissed,” Aidala expressed in an email.

The Green Bay Packers concluded their season on January 10 with a close 31-27 defeat against the Chicago Bears during the NFC playoffs’ wild-card round.

Walker has been a key player for the Packers, serving as the first-team left tackle for three seasons and starting in 48 games since being drafted from Penn State in 2022. With his contract now completed, Walker is poised to enter free agency this offseason, having started in each of Green Bay’s four playoff appearances over the past three years.
