In the wake of recent shootings in Minneapolis involving federal agents, a multitude of celebrities have taken to social media to express their concerns. The incidents resulted in the deaths of two American citizens, sparking widespread attention and debate.

The victims, Alex Pretti and Renee Good, were fatally shot during operations that federal agents described as efforts to apprehend illegal immigrants. The White House quickly labeled the shootings as acts of “self-defense” against what they termed “domestic terrorists” and “assassins.”

However, local authorities have expressed doubts about the legitimacy of these claims. Video footage captured by bystanders at the scenes suggests discrepancies in the federal account of events, raising questions about the necessity and justification of the shootings.

President Trump addressed the issue on social media, suggesting a collaborative approach to immigration issues in Minnesota. He stated that the administration’s focus is on apprehending “any and all criminals” and noted that Governor Tim Walz was “very respectful” and understanding of this objective.

In response, Governor Walz’s office issued a statement indicating that the White House agreed to consider either reducing the presence of federal agents in Minnesota or enhancing coordination with state authorities specifically concerning immigration enforcement targeting violent offenders.

Walz’s office released a statement saying the White House had agreed to look into either reducing the number of federal agents in Minnesota or working with the state “in a more coordinated fashion on immigration enforcement regarding violent criminals.”
