Woman in spooky sweater arrested for plotting Trump assassination

A librarian from West Virginia, captured in a mugshot wearing a skeleton-themed sweater, is facing serious charges after allegedly attempting to incite an assassination plot against former President Donald Trump. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office announced on Sunday that Morgan Morrow, 39, was detained and charged with making terroristic threats.

Morrow, who works at the Jackson County Public Library, reportedly used social media to solicit others to join in a plot to assassinate Trump. These accusations stem from a TikTok video she is said to have posted, where her controversial views were made clear.

In the now-removed video, Morrow allegedly wrote a provocative message overlaying footage of herself adorned in rainbow eyeshadow and pink glasses. Her post suggested that finding a sniper with a terminal illness from the country’s 343 million residents should not be too difficult.

Authorities quickly flagged the post as a potential call to violence. Comments under the video reportedly showed that some viewers were disturbingly eager to engage in the violent plan.

She captioned the video, ‘Luigi can’t save us all,’ in a likely reference to alleged UnitedHealthcare CEO assassin Luigi Mangione.

The post – which appears to have been removed from her page – was flagged by authorities who believed it was a call to violence against Trump.

Comments under the alarming video apparently show eager participants in the sickening scheme.

‘Right?! It’s a big country,’ one commenter replied. Others rattled off other conservative names, including Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller, whom they want to be killed ‘first.’

Other proposed targets were Oracle CEO Larry Ellison and PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel.

According to the criminal complaint reviewed by WOWK, officers detained Morrow from her Ripley home and took her to the sheriff’s office for questioning.

Morrow allegedly told police that she had no intentions of actually mobilizing like-minded people to kill the president through her TikTok.

But authorities wrote in the complaint that content of that nature is ‘designed to encourage, inspire or entice others to carry out the threatened act, regardless of whether the speaker publicly intends to personally do so.’

She was booked into South Central Regional Jail (SCRJ) – staring blankly into the camera as her mugshot was taken.

‘It’s okay to be critical of the government. It’s OK to be critical of things you don’t agree with,’ Sheriff Ross Mellinger told WOWK.

‘But when you start promoting the violence and you’re promoting a plan to carry out the violence and recruiting other people to carry out the plan for you, that’s clearly crossing the line.’

The commander-in-chief has been the target of several attempted assassinations, most notably when a bullet struck his ear while campaigning in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July 2024.

Gunman Thomas Crooks was shot and killed by a Secret Service agent at the scene. Aside from trying to murder Trump, he killed an event attendee and injured two others.

Aside from the TikTok that landed her in handcuffs, Morrow has shared multiple politically charged messages with her roughly 1,300 followers.

On January 11, just days after Renee Good was shot dead by ICE agents in Minneapolis, Morrow shared a video of herself crying.

‘How long can we keep going on like this? F*ck ICE,’ she captioned the post.

She echoed that same ‘f*ck ICE’ sentiment in another video shared a few days later.

Following Morrow’s arrest, the Jackson County Public Library issued the following statement: ‘The comments recently made by an employee do not reflect the mission, values, or standards of conduct of our organization.

‘We take our responsibilities to the public and our supporters seriously and are committed to professionalism, respect, and integrity in all that we do.

‘The views expressed are made in an individual capacity and do not represent the position of the organization. We are addressing the matter internally in accordance to our established policies and procedures.

‘We remain committed to our mission and serving our community in a manner that upholds our core values.’

The Daily Mail has reached out to the sheriff’s office for comment.
