John Harbaugh’s initial plan to have Todd Monken coach Jaxson Dart in New Jersey has taken a different turn.
Instead, Monken, the Baltimore Ravens’ offensive coordinator, has accepted the head coaching position with the Cleveland Browns. He remains in the AFC North, where he will work with Pro Bowl quarterback Shedeur Sanders. This development removes the Giants’ leading candidate from consideration, prompting Harbaugh to renew his search for a new offensive coordinator. Here are some potential candidates:
Travis Switzer, Ravens Run Game Coordinator: Switzer, who was in contention for the Seattle Seahawks’ offensive coordinator role last year, has spent nine years under Harbaugh in Baltimore. He has been instrumental in managing one of the NFL’s top running games, featuring Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry. If Switzer, a former Division I offensive lineman, doesn’t remain with new Ravens coach Jesse Minter, he might find an enticing opportunity with the Giants.
Charlie Weis Jr., LSU Offensive Coordinator: Weis, who previously worked with Dart at Ole Miss, passed on a chance to fill the Eagles’ vacancy, possibly due to job security concerns. With Harbaugh’s promising tenure in New York, Weis could enjoy stability through at least 2026. Although Dart would likely welcome a reunion with Weis, it’s uncertain if Weis and Harbaugh would make a compatible team.
Kliff Kingsbury, Former Commanders Offensive Coordinator: The Titans’ unexpected choice to appoint former Giants head coach Brian Daboll as offensive coordinator leaves Kingsbury, a previous head coach for the Arizona Cardinals, still available. While Kingsbury might consider a role in Baltimore with Jackson, the Giants would do well to explore how his experience with Jayden Daniels in Washington could benefit Dart, especially with Malik Nabers as a key player in New York.

Kingsbury might get the Baltimore job to coach the former MVP Jackson. But it’s worth the Giants exploring what Jayden Daniels’ former Washington play caller could do for Dart with Daniels’ best friend, Malik Nabers, as New York’s centerpiece.
Davis Webb, Broncos quarterback coach: The Denver Broncos’ firing of offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi after reaching the AFC Championship Game seemed like it was done so Sean Payton could promote and retain Webb, one of the league’s rising stars. But Webb is in high demand. He interviewed for the Bills’ and Raiders’ head coach vacancies, and the Giants, Eagles and Ravens all have shown interest at offensive coordinator already, too. It will be interesting to see where the former Giant quarterback lands. He is highly regarded in the Giants’ building.
Lunda Wells, Cowboys tight end coach: Wells worked for the Giants from 2011-19. He has coached one of Dallas’ most productive position groups since 2020. His playcalling influences include new Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy and Saints head coach Kellen Moore. Wells just coached his team to a win in the East-West Shrine Bowl. And he already has interviewed with the Steelers, Commanders and Jets for their OC openings this cycle. Cowboys offensive coordinator Klayton Adams is another interesting name in Dallas, but the Cowboys already blocked an Eagles request to interview him in division.
