In an effort to safeguard genuine artists from losing royalties to AI-generated music, Deezer introduced an advanced tool last year. The company reports that by 2025, this AI detection system successfully identified and labeled over 13.4 million songs created by artificial intelligence. Despite the surge in AI-generated tracks, Deezer boasts an impressive detection accuracy of 99.8 percent.
According to a recent press statement, Deezer is inundated with over 60,000 AI tracks every day, which constitutes 39 percent of all uploads. This figure has notably doubled from the 30,000 daily uploads reported in September 2025. Furthermore, Deezer’s analysis reveals that around 85 percent of identified AI-generated music streams in 2025 were deemed “fraudulent,” a stark contrast to the 8 percent of fraudulent streams across the board that same year.
Deezer’s CEO, Alexis Lanternier, emphasized the ongoing battle against fraudulent AI music uploads. “Our platform sees a significant proportion of AI music intended for fraudulent purposes,” Lanternier stated. “We are committed to demonetizing any such streams to protect the royalties of legitimate human artists, songwriters, and rights holders.”
As AI music becomes increasingly sophisticated, streaming platforms are stepping up efforts to clearly label non-human-created content. Last year, Spotify initiated new regulations to tackle AI music and impersonation issues, alongside developing a fresh metadata standard to identify AI usage. On the other hand, Bandcamp has adopted a stricter approach, opting to ban all AI-generated content from its platform entirely.
