Catherine O’Hara was urgently transported to the hospital following a health crisis at her Los Angeles residence on Friday, which tragically preceded her unexpected passing at the age of 71.
The actress, known for her role in “Home Alone,” was reportedly experiencing breathing difficulties before being taken to the medical facility, as revealed by dispatch audio acquired by the Daily Mail.
Emergency services arrived at O’Hara’s home in Brentwood around 5 AM on Friday. She was then hurried to a nearby hospital and categorized in critical condition, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Tragically, the beloved star was pronounced dead just hours later.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department informed the Daily Mail: “We responded to a call for medical assistance at 4:48 AM at that location, transporting an approximately 70-year-old female in serious condition.”
O’Hara made her last public appearance at the Emmys in September, where she appeared noticeably frail on the red carpet.

As news of O’Hara’s tragic death spread, Culkin led the tributes on Instagram with a heartbreaking post.
He shared a split image: one from the classic Home Alone film and another from a more recent reunion at his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in 2023.
‘Mama. I thought we had time. I wanted more. I wanted to sit in a chair next to you. I heard you. But I had so much more to say. I love you. I’ll see you later,’ he wrote.

Posting on Instagram, he wrote, ‘Oh, genius to be near you. Eternally grateful. There is less light in my world, this lucky world that had you, will keep you, always. Always,’ adding a heart emoji.
