Jamie Lee Curtis and her husband, Christopher Guest, were recently photographed for the first time since the unexpected death of their close friend, Catherine O’Hara. The images, shared by the Daily Mail, capture the couple in a somber mood.

Guest, who had collaborated extensively with O’Hara over the years, joined Curtis in visiting their daughter’s home, seeking solace with family following the heartbreaking news.

The 67-year-old Halloween actress and Guest, who are parents to daughters Annie, 39, and Ruby, 29, appeared visibly saddened as they stepped out of their vehicle, pausing to admire a flower.

Dressed in dark attire as a sign of mourning, Curtis and Guest brought gifts to their daughter’s residence just a day after learning of O’Hara’s passing.

Catherine O’Hara passed away at 71 in Los Angeles during the early morning of January 30, following a brief illness, according to a statement from her agency, CAA.

While the exact cause of death has not been disclosed, it was revealed that O’Hara and her husband, Bo Welch, 74, had kept friends unaware of her illness, as reported exclusively by the Daily Mail.

Many of Hollywood’s biggest names, including Guest, paid tribute to their prolific peer, an award-winning actress and comedian with an iconic, decades-spanning career.

Guest and co-writer Eugene Levy — who also starred in Schitt’s Creek as O’Hara’s onscreen husband for six seasons — were among many who shared their heartbreak and paid homage to O’Hara.

O’Hara, Guest and Levy previously worked together on Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind and For Your Consideration.

‘I am devastated,’ Guest said in a statement. ‘We have lost one of the comic giants of our age. I send my love to her family.’

Michael Keaton, who worked with O’Hara in Beetlejuice and its sequel, shared an emotional tribute on social media.

Macaulay Culkin, who played her son in the first two Home Alone movies, also dedicated a sentimental post to his ‘mama.’

Seth Rogen praised O’Hara for inspiring him to pursue moviemaking and for being ‘hysterical, kind, intuitive, generous’ as well as ‘the funniest person I’d ever had the pleasure of watching on screen.’

O’Hara was forced to miss filming for season two of The Studio, their Apple TV+ comedy series, in the days leading up to her passing.

Many of O’Hara’s friends and peers were left in ‘complete shock’ and did not know about her condition, sources told the Daily Mail.

An LA Fire Department spokesperson said that ‘at 4:48am [Friday] we responded to a request for medical aid.’ And a brief 911 audio recording appears to reveal dispatchers referring to her having ‘difficulty breathing’.

According to one source, O’Hara was spotted at SUR Restaurant in West Hollywood just a few weeks ago on January 13.

The popular venue, owned by reality star Lisa Vanderpump, was hosting an event for Supermodels Unlimited magazine, but O’Hara managed to dodge any pictures.

She was, the source said, ‘in great spirits’.

‘As quickly as she was seen, she left, but she looked healthy for a 71 year old,’ the source added.

O’Hara had seemed noticeably thin during her last public appearance – at the Emmy Awards back in September last year. And she was then absent from the Golden Globes, held earlier this month, despite having been nominated for an award.

Paul Herman, a retired physician who has lived next door to O’Hara in the affluent Brentwood neighborhood of LA for over 25 years, told the Daily Mail that he had ‘no knowledge’ of her mystery illness.

The Golden Globes absence had made him a ‘little bit suspicious’, he said, but added that he hadn’t properly seen O’Hara out in Brentwood in ‘years’.

‘Bo and Catherine were always very pleasant. They were just the kindest, most agreeable neighbors,’ he said.

O’Hara earned an Emmy nomination for best supporting actress in The Studio’s first season.

She was slated to reprise her role as Patty in season two, which began production earlier this month, but she was forced to miss the filming in recent days.
