Earlier on Monday, the Today show reported that the FBI is now involved in the case, and homicide detectives are actively investigating after discovering some “concerning” evidence at Nancy’s home. This development underscores the seriousness of the situation.
The disappearance of Nancy was the leading story on Monday morning’s broadcast of the show. NBC’s leading crime expert, Tom Winter, confirmed the FBI’s awareness and involvement, noting the significant nature of what was discovered at the scene.

Guthrie, 54, was not at work on Monday but issued a statement via Today, saying: ‘I want to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers, and messages of support. Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom.
‘We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone, anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s office at 520-351-4900.’

Today revealed that Customs and Border Patrol have joined sheriff’s deputies in the hunt for Nancy, whose home sits close to the Mexican border.
Drones and a sheriff’s plane have been deployed to try and track her down.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said the search for Nancy is still being treated as a search and rescue operation but was unable to rule out the possibility of foul play.
Investigators said Nancy was not showing any signs of cognitive issues around the time of her disappearance.
