President Donald Trump has once again stirred controversy by threatening legal action over allegations linking him to Jeffrey Epstein’s notorious private island. On Monday afternoon, Trump took to Truth Social to vehemently deny ever visiting the island, a denial that followed his earlier threat to sue Trevor Noah. The former host of The Daily Show had made a joke at the Grammy Awards suggesting Trump had an interest in Greenland because Epstein’s island was no longer an option.
Trump Targets Wolff in Epstein Email Fallout
In his post, Trump shot back against the accusations, stating, “Not only wasn’t I friendly with Jeffrey Epstein but, based upon information that has just been released by the Department of Justice, Epstein and a SLEAZEBAG lying ‘author’ named Michael Wolff, conspired in order to damage me and/or my Presidency.” Michael Wolff, known for his controversial 2018 book “Fire and Fury” about Trump, has long been a target of the former president’s disdain. In previously disclosed emails, Wolff allegedly communicated with Epstein about potentially undermining Trump’s 2016 campaign.
Trump Slams Grammys Over Epstein Island Joke
Trump, who has recently hinted at legal action against Wolff, continued his tirade, stating, “So much for the Radical Left’s hope against hope, some of whom I’ll be suing.” He further claimed, “I never went to the infested Epstein island but, almost all of these Crooked Democrats, and their Donors, did.” While there is no concrete evidence placing Trump on Epstein’s island, records do show he traveled on Epstein’s private jet.
He called Noah a ‘total loser.’ ‘I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an M.C., and suing him for plenty$,’ Trump wrote, telling the comedian to look at other lawsuits that have brought the president large settlements. ‘Ask Little George Slopadopolus, and others, how that all worked out,’ he said. ‘Also ask CBS! Get ready Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you!’ Trump has been on a tear over the Epstein files, which have been a consistent political problem since he returned to office last January. Another trove of documents was released by the Department of Justice on Friday, which includes more than 3 million pages of documents, along with 2,000 videos and around 180,000 images.
Around 4,500 of the documents mentioned the president’s name. Among them was one email signed ‘Love, Melania’that appears to be addressed to Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime friend and accomplice who is currently in prison. The names of the sender and recipient of the October 23, 2002, email are redacted. But message begins: ‘Dear G! How are you? Nice story about JE in NY mag. You look great on the picture.’ The email continues: ‘I know you are very busy flying all over the world. How was Palm Beach? I cannot wait to go down. Give me a call when you are back in NY. Have a great time!’ Before Friday’s release, the DOJ made public around 500,000 pages of materials.
The new batch of Epstein files contains some unsubstantiated claims about Trump and information about Epstein’s relationship with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, who was Epstein’s next-door neighbor in Manhattan’s Upper West Side. There is no evidence of wrongdoing on Lutnick’s part. The files include unverified tips about Trump solicited from the public, with the DOJ warning that they ‘may include fake or falsely submitted images, documents or videos.’ Trump’s name also appears in news articles and emails in the trove. The DOJ’s release of Epstein documents on Friday likely will the agency’s last. In November, lawmakers in both parties voted in favor of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which forced the DOJ’s release of the Epstein files. Trump signed the bill into law on November 19.
